"Husdon River Skyline"  Print by John Haymson

 

John Haymson was an Austrian-born American painter and printmaker best known for his expressive depictions of street scenes and women.

In 1939, the artist fled Austria, following the Nazi occupation, and settled in New York, where he taught for a number of years at the Parsons School of Design.

 

Today, Haymson’s original works are in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C.

The artist died in 1980 in Hasting-on-Hudson, NY.

 

This print has 1950's class. Slight wear on frame.
